Be sure to comb though a hair protecting serum before adding heat. It adds shine and makes sure that your hair won’t dry out. Use a flat iron on 2″ sections from root to end for the straight look. If your going to try the waives, spray wet roots with volumizer, then protecting serum and comb it through. You can use a round curling iron to roll the curls down the shaft but I use my flat iron. If you start with 2″ sections from the root and quickly turn the iron as you go, it makes the best waves and they stay forever. A little bit of hair spray will additionally lift the roots and set the curl but use one that’s not stiff. I can recommend some if you like.
