Summer Whites: A New Pure Palette for Fashion
White is clean, it’s fresh, and it’s a sexy summer stunner to style this season. Indeed, it seems that white is the new beige! It seems apropos that we start off our Spring/Summer 2011 fashion trend coverage with a theme so pure. As you know, many stars have been spotted in white dresses this spring, making it one of the biggest trends of the season. One brand, however, has stood out among the rest: Dolce & Gabbana. Yes, my dear Trufflers, their Spring 2011 collection is gorgeous. Most recently, model Chanel Iman wore a romantic lace sheath dress to the Met Gala. Before that, Anne Hathaway sported an embroidered ruffled mini at the Rio de Janeiro premiere of Rio, Blake Lively wore a flirty thigh dusting dress to CinemaCon 2011, Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence wore a gorgeous lace maxi skirt to the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards, and Diane Kruger sported a shimmering embroidered mini at the Hollywood premiere of Unknown.
Ways to wear white? I love wearing different shades of white and off-white together, think about mixing tones and textures. A gauzy knit sweater, for example, contrasting against a crisp pair of cuffed shorts. As for accessories, you can go with anything you want – metallics look especial fresh, but if you want to add a spot of color, brights or pastels are a fabulous way to step outside your comfort zone and into a seasonal trend.
What do you think of Dolce & Gabbanas Spring/Summer 2011 Collection dresses?

Stay in Style: Wearable Parisian Style

Late 1950s black tulle dress and Herbert Levine polka-dot pumps
It’s no secret that the Parisian Fashionistas have been outdoing us in the style department for decades. No wonder that they are all so thin, with designers like Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Emanual Ungaro, Jean- Paul Gautier, and Yves Saint Lauren at your front door step- who won’t be?? My desk is covered right now with runway photo’s from the couture shows in Paris. Just so you get the heads up, the trend for Summer and Fall 2011 is as follows: Polka dots, recently appearing on knitted hot pants and tank tops in Miu Miu’s 2010 resort collection, then later on the fall runways: on suits at Marc Jacobs, on sheath dresses at David Koma, and adorning sheer chiffon blouses at Stella McCartney. So my girls, with so much great fashion in the air, I couldn’t help but think how I could bring you a taste of Parisian Couture right here, right now. Check out a few very simple ways that you can infuse a little European flair to your personal style.

Dot Peasant Blouse
1) Romantic Chiffon dot peasant blouse from Jackie’s Boutique Couture Collection- Black and white dots are not only adorable but synonymous with Parisian style. Wear this beautiful blouse tossed over a lacey cami for a peak of sexy, a steal at only $52. If you want to edge-up your look, cinch the waist with a wide belt (click to see belt) and wear with black dress pants, a skinny dark denim jean or white slim skirt. Tres, Tres Chic! (Shop Blouse)

Red Dot Platforms- GUESS?
2) What could be more stylish than a pair of red poka-dot platforms. OMG these are off the hook cute and Guess shoes are both economical and comfy. Girls, I love heels but if you haven’t tamed your arches, a simple ballet flat or red sandal is a great op as well. (Shop shoe)

Nylon Tote by Tory Burch
3) This Tory Burch Nylon Tote is so sleek and timeless. It’s always a good idea to invest in a great bag every season. I always buy at least one…at LEAST one. I love this style because you can wear it day or night and it’s a terrific work bag as well. The size is great for most woman and it will even hold your Ipad. Nylon is a great choice because it’s light and tran-seasonal. (Shop Bag)
In Style: Swap Your Tee for a Tunic
Forget any hesitation you have about trading your ordinary Tee for this seasons tunics. Today’s tunics, with their bold colors and stylish shapes, are a streamlined, sophisticated alternative to the boring wardrobe staple. “They’re just as easy to wear but add a certain polish to your look”, says Fashion Designer Jacqueline Jax of JackiesBoutique.com . “Tunics are a perfect way to add a modern edge to your personal style with simplicity and ease”, she continues as she adjusts her newest design; an elegantly layered tunic with cami straps in Summers hottest Indian Turquoise Hue. (Shown below)
This season opt for tunics in bright prints and solids that will add edge to your wardrobe and keep you comfortable in the hot summer.
