I was speaking to a fellow blogger Louise tonight from ohmygoshstyle and she asked, “What’s it like being a fashion designer…that’s so amazing that you are following your passions in life, I can’t wait to read more posts on your blogs.”
Louise’s comment reminded me of a story I was reading about a woman who cared for people at the end of their lives. As she spoke to each of her patients and helped them come to accept their last days, her patients #1 regret concerned how they lived. They would say, “I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.” When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people have not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made. It is very important to try and honor at least some of your dreams along the way because from the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realize, until they no longer have it.
I am so glad that I came across this story at this time in my life. While I am still young, still learning, and still growing. With this wisdom I am reminded to never loose my way and keep living the life that I dream of. I hope you are doing that or at least moving towards it every single day.
