If life is like a car and driven from the inside out, rather than the outside in, then doesn’t it make sense to embrace the present rather than always seek the future?
I have often let my desires rule my head by focusing too much on the future and not enough on the present situations I am in.
Each day passes and I find my mind wandering to thoughts leading with the phrases like, “If I could only..” or “When I get to..”
The danger in staying too much in the future and not enough in the present is that you train yourself to think the grass will always be greener at a later date.
That constant feeling of never being satisfied is a deep black hole where no one should enter because once you do, you will live your life with discontent and restlessness.
In pondering this concept, I feel that it’s much better to enjoy each day as it comes and wherever you go, wherever enjoy just being there.
You can plan an awesome future but realize that the grass is never greener, it’s only the same grass just different day on your journey.
Life’s an adventure where every minute is meant to be an experience, the way in which you travel thru your experiences is all about what’s going on right at this moment in your mind and your heart, not what’s ahead.
