May Music Favorites

This last month has flown by so as I’ve been winding up to release some new music, by posting some of your favorites on my instagram page.

I have really enjoyed revisiting the previous videos with you and I still have more clips to post so if you want to come visit the page, it’s

It was also really cool to hear the reactions of those just hearing me sing for the first time. That was incredibly encouraging actually reminding me of my roots and where I started with all of this.

Wow, it’s been a long time.
So much has happened and this journey of mine doesn’t ever stop surprising me. I’ll do some more catching up with you sooner than you think but for today I wanted to post the full versions of those video clips that you were enjoying.

When I first listened to “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perry, it haunted me in that way where you find yourself humming the chorus without realizing which song it is. I suppose it was then that I new it had a connection with me. I went into the studio while I was going thru a tough time in my personal life and it’s because of this that the words spoke to me deeply.

I Like to be completely vulnerable in the music so that the flow of the lyrics and the melody can carry me away. Most of the recording I do is very late at night when the world is quiet and I can just loose myself in what I’m doing. Those moments are heavenly and I surely don’t have enough of them. When I watch the video, it’s just a reminder to me that I have to make more time for myself. We only come around this way once don’t we…

“Here Comes the Sun” is a song by George Harrison from The Beatles 1969 Abbey Road album. I recorded this song for a friend of mine who is going through some tough times. Sometimes you just need to hear that everything will be ok so this is my message to him and also to all of you. Know that there are good day’s ahead for good people like you. Cherish the past, live in the present, and aspire for the future.

Xoxo, Jax
