Discover your true self
- Give yourself some time:
You cannot and will not be able to know yourself until you have time to experience things and cope with life. You lean so much from any journey but you have to step outside of your comfort zone in order to get to the bottom of your true feelings.
- Appreciate yourself:
Acknowledge your skills and what’s special about you. Maybe you have an outlook on life or a special energy that you bring to peoples lives. Discovering what your good at and what your not helps you take a mindful account of yourself.
- What makes you happy?
It’s really important that you get in touch with what makes you happy and brings you pleasure. I recently purged 90% of my belongings. I did it because I wasn’t happy having so many things around me. I felt weighted down and on a personal level I wasn’t feeling inspired so I decided to look at every thing I was surrounding by. People, things and even mindset. Everything had to go that wasn’t bringing me joy.
- Let people help you:
Talk about your struggles with people and ask for their opinions. It’s interesting to hear the personal stories of other people and that can really give you some insights into yourself. I found that when I gained different perspectives, I was able to see alternative options or at least get ideas that were inspired by those talks.
- Allow yourself to make mistakes and let the dice roll: through this journey I’ve found a way to let go of what I can’t control and change the things that I can. I’ve also stopped rushing and I no longer allow people to push me. Say no sometimes and stay focused on what’s important to you.
