Behind The Studio Door with Jacqueline Jax Fine Artist
Jacqueline Jax is the niece of famous abstract painter Lee Aguinaldo, (https://www.geringerart.com/artists/lee-aguinaldo/ ) considered a pioneer of Philippine modernism. She’s from a prominent family descended from a military leader and politician who is popularly considered to be the first president of the Philippines.
From an early age, Jacqueline showed an interest in art and was enrolled in Art classes at just 10 years old where she learned screen printing, poetry, sculpting, and painting. Coming from a family of Artists and Entrepreneurs, her interests were both encouraged and supported.
By Age 12 she followed in her Counsin Bill Evans ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Evans )footsteps studying music. Her mother focused on voice and piano lessons and encouraged Jacqueline to perform in her first recital just 2 years later.
Many years of study followed under expert vocal instructors and professional teachers who could help her to develop her skills yet Jacqueline just didn’t enjoy the business side of the industry.
She forever dreamed of returning back to the Fine Arts.
In College, Jacqueline focused on Architectural drawing of interiors and exterior building design. Under two amazing professors Peter Primak and Alex Bahri, she perfected her skills in architectural illustration.
It was during this time that Jacqueline was the only recipient of 2 consecutive Bari Awards for her work before she graduated with honors. Diving straight into commission work, Jacqueline’s art was selling for 10k per painting before she graduated and continued to be popular locally in Florida until she took a break to become the director of Artist development for the American Vocal Academy moving on to host a radio show for AVA Live Radio.
As the niece of a famous Radio Dj RJ Jacinto, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramon_Jacinto) founder and chairman of Philippine rock-and-roll radio station DZRJ and the Rajah Broadcasting Network, it was not a surprise to see radio come into Jacqueline’s life at some point.
In that position she was able to help thousands of indie artists to have a voice and find both purpose in their art. She still maintains her publicist duties and host the shows to this day. www.avaliveradio.info
It was during this time that she established close connections in the ever-changing music business, film, and radio industries. She still works in the music business as a music publicist and radio show host helping indie artists rise through cutting edge methods of branding and marketing.
After moving back to Canada, Jacqueline started painting again as a way to decompress from the highly competitive music business and rediscovered her love for watercolor and mixed media.
Although she never stopped sketching over the years, her vivid and colorful Portraits and Abstracts can be found on her website for sale and will be available shortly in Art Galleries all over the world.
Her work from this past year has also been featured by popular companies in the art industry such as Derwent and Arches for her unique use of their products.
To date, the artist is currently working on a New Sketchbook series and writing an exposed journal as the art is developed so her patrons can get an inside glimpse of the artist behind the closed door of the studio.
